Molekule Celebrates International Women’s Day 2020

International Women’s Day is a worldwide tradition dating back over a hundred years that celebrates the innumerable contributions of women. As a STEM company Molekule places a particular value on hiring and recognizing female trailblazers in our field since it has been historically dominated by men. Women make up only 28% of the workforce in science and engineering companies, but their ratio is increasing everyday, as are women studying these fields in higher education.

We support their efforts to contribute, so here are a few voices we want everyone to hear nice and loud.

Jaya Rao, Co-founder & Co-CEO

Why did you choose to work at Molekule?
I always knew STEM was the path for me. Now, I’m building a company with a strong scientific foundation because I believe science has the solutions that unlock human potential.

Jennifer Barbera, Director of Operations

What do you find interesting about your job?
The broadness of scope in what I am exposed to. Hardware, software, product & design, finance, manufacturing, the list goes on. It has also been incredibly interesting and rewarding to see the way this company has grown.  Every time that I have begun to feel comfortable with a certain discipline or process, it has been time to hand it off to someone new to see them grow and mature whatever it may have been.

Kelley Crosslin, Supply Chain Manager

Why did you choose to work for Molekule?
Definitely the people. I was blown away during the interview process by just how intelligent and passionate everyone was.  Every single person had a positive outlook and just wanted to get the job done well. All of my coworkers truly embody our core values.

Jean Lugo, Customer Service Advocate Trainer

Why did you choose to work for Molekule?
I wanted to be a part of a company whose top priority is to improve the communities we live and work in. Molekule’s vision and mission resonated with me. The culture also was a great fit. They allow me to be who I am and to bring my best self to my role.

Jenny Wong, Operations Manager & Clinical Program Coordinator

Why did you choose to work for Molekule?
I previously started as a part-timer helping Jaya with our beta test and loved working with the team. The passion and dedication that I saw showed me that this would be an amazing team to work with. The mission is also vital as we see the consequence that is occurring with climate change. i.e., the increase in wildfires.

Janice Yang, Executive Assistant

What motivates you to do what you do?
Knowing that Molekule’s technology can change the world is what motivates me. I’m playing a small part in what, hopefully, will be a gamechanger in the air, and climate change, space.

Vicky Inoue, Copywriter

What motivates you to do what you do?
I think language, words, and good copy matters! It’s what infuses soul into a brand. You can have a great product, but if it doesn’t have heart, or doesn’t understand the customer, it doesn’t really matter.

Jacqui Macy, Field Test Program Manager

Why did you choose to work at Molekule?
I knew nothing about air purifiers. Molekule is just like the The Little Engine that Could, but working to disrupt the industry of old-age purification technology and I wanted to join that movement.

Ramya Baratam, Senior UX Product Designer

What do you find interesting about your job?
Every day is different. My job allows me to interact with many parts of the company. I learn something new every day from a different perspective.

Atiya Harvey, Customer Support Advocate

What motivates you to do what you do?
I love to speak positivity to things I find myself genuinely moved by. Health is a big factor to me, so speaking about beneficial health tips to customers who want to change their environment is motivating within itself.
